How to go Bhaktapur?

Bhaktapur, situated at about 12 KM eastward from the capital city Kathmandu. It is easily accessible by many means of transport. You can choose any one of the following ways to get Bhaktapur.

From the airport : Tourist or Travelers wishing to got down to Bhaktapur directly from Airport are suggested to take prepaid or meter taxi at the airport exit. It will take about 45 to get to Bhaktapur and it will cost not more than Nepalese Rupees (NRS) 300/- (About US Dollars 4.50).

From Thamel, Kathmandu : Tourist or Travelers wishing to got down to Bhaktapur from Kathmandu (Thamel) are suggested to take a taxi or private vehicle. Take your time and leave in advance because of traffic condition, it will take between 35 to 50 minutes to get to Bhaktapur. It will cost about NRS 350 (USD 5) by taxi and about NRS 450 (USD 7) by private vehicle.

From Patan (Lalitpur): Local mini buses leave for Bhaktapur every 30 minutes from Patan. Once can get on theses at the Lagankhel bus park and enjoy a one way trip for RS 15 per person. You can hire a taxi from Patan, it will cost about same price from Kathmandu by taxi.

For Adventure Tourist: For tourists looking for an adventure travel can get to Bhaktapur by renting Bicycle or Motorbiketoo. And who wants to have personal touch with the life of local people can travel by local buses by which you can get and experience the real view of people living in Bhaktapur. There are two types of local buses, one is Express Buses and other is Non Express . Both buses leave from BAGH Bazaar Mini Bus Park which is situated about 5 minutes drive & about 15 minutes walk from center of Thamel. The Express Buses doesn't stop on the way and it directly drop you in Bhaktapur. Its is fast and realiable but Non Express buses stop every 5 minutes and its takes lots of time to get there. Each Buses depart in every 10 minutes and the charge is NRS 10 per passenger for one way trip.

How to go Nagarkot?
Tourist or traveller wishing to visit or spend nights in Nagarkot, the favourite spot for panoramic view of mountain and Sun rise & Sun set can get to there by local buses or by private vehicles. Its about 20 KM from center of Bhaktapur and there are many hotels and restaurents according to suit your budget of travel.
